ADR (Aeroporti di Roma)
Aeroporti di Roma S.p.A. was born in 1974 as an exclusive concessionary for the management and the development of the Capital Airport System.During the years, the several development and modernization interventions of the infrastructures of the two roman airports allowed ADR to face the increase of traffic volumes efficiently and to the quality of service.
In 2008 ADR recorded, in both of the airports, more than 40 million of passengers: 210 destinations, thanks to the 140 airlines operating in the two airports.
Fiumicino is the "hub" airport for the domestic, international, and intercontinental scheduled and charter flights. Ciampino, on the contrary, is the airport city dedicated to the low cost traffic, to the goods traffic of " express courier " and to the General Aviation (State, humanitarian and Civil Protection flights).
ADR Group is currently made up of investments in subsidiaries (ADR Engineering S.p.A., ADR Tel S.p.A., ADR Advertising S.p.A.,ADR Assistance S.r.l., ADR Sviluppo S.r.l., Airport Invest BV), which allowed to valorise competencies and professional skills, by offering its know how even outside.

Aeroporti di Roma plays a basic role in the development of the local and domestic economy: by data elaborated by the Centro di Economia Regionale dei Trasporti e del Turismo (CERTeT) we understand that 10% of production and 11% of direct and indirect employment of Lazio Region are due to the first company for the airport management made up of private capital.
Aeroporti di Roma’s Industrial Plan 2007-2016 defines the strategic lines which will characterise the future development of ADR and of the Roman airport system.
To sum up, having considered the factors which affect the aviation transport and the italian system typicality, the development Plan examines the infrastructures and capacity potentialities of the two airports, the necessity to direct the low-cost carriers on Fiumicino and start up a program of efficiency and effective recovery in all the sub-systems.
In the medium and long period, besides, the document focuses on the business basic choices and it articulates an analytical and detailed investment plan, aligned to the aims to reach, focusing on the constant improvement of service quality and of the airport management.
There are plans to build new systems and infrastructures over the next few years, along with the implementation of maintenance and renovation projects concerning the existing structures. The development Plan drawn up by Aeroporti di Roma includes light maintenance to improve conformity to safety standards, as well as the appearance and comfort of the present Terminals.
The plans are aimed at filling the investment gap of recent years that comes to over an average 7 Euro per passenger invested by large European hubs, versus Milano Malpensa’s 3.4 Euro and Rome Fiumicino’s 2.4 Euro.
