Since its inception as a civil airport in 1993, Frankfurt-Hahn has become one of Germany’s fastest growing airports. Within only ten years, Frankfurt-Hahn Airport has become one of the top-largest international airports (rank 11) and the fourth largest cargo-airport in Germany.

The cargo business sector, the second important leg of the airport, presents itself as a division with enormous growth opportunities at Frankfurt-Hahn Airport. The Hunsrück airport has therefore made it into the German top ten cargo airports in just a very short time. Hahn holds its strong position as fourth largest freight airport in Germany behind Frankfurt, Cologne and Munich for years. The 24-hour airport Frankfurt-Hahn could jump up to European rank 17 and worldwide to rank 78. In an international cargo magazine Frankfurt-Hahn was the only German airport listed among the fastest growing cargo-airports in the world (total of 22).
