The place for aviation - Hamburg
The joint initiative Hamburg - The place for aviation was founded by Hamburg's aviation companies, associations, institutions, administration and institutes of higher education. Airbus Deutschland, Lufthansa Technik, Hamburg Airport, DGLR, VDI, Hanse-Aerospace e.V., Hecas e.V., the Hamburg Employment Agency of the Federal Agency of Employment, the trade union IG Metall, section coast, the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, the employers association NORDMETALL and the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg herein bundle their activities to promote Hamburg - The place for aviation. Their mutual goal is to develop and present Hamburg on an national and international scale as one of the world's leading locations for civil aviation with bright prospects for both companies and employees. As the place for aviation, Hamburg bundles the entire added-value-chain in aircraft construction with currently employing a staff of 36,000 in the booming industry. All participants co-ordinate their activities under the joint vision to sustainably expand the aviation cluster into a centre of competence for "new flying" and to offer integrated solutions, which will make flying more environmentally-friendly, economically, safer and flexible.
