Lufthansa Technik Group

Lufthansa Technik is the world market leader in the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) of commercial aircraft, their engines and components. With customized programs for maintenance and state-of-the-art repair procedures, Lufthansa Technik continuously assures the reliability and availability of its customer fleets.

Lufthansa Technik has maintenance bases at every large airport in Germany and at a further 50 stations worldwide, where it conducts checks on customers' aircraft. All German maintenance facilities are coordinated by Lufthansa Technik's maintenance hub in Frankfurt. The maintenance site in Frankfurt with three hangars and another hangar of the subsidiary Condor Cargo Technik covers almost 200,000 square meters. More than 3,000 staff ensure that the Lufthansa fleets and the fleets of more than 60 other customers receive seamless technical and maintenance support, around the clock, 365 days a year. Other maintenance bases in Germany are Munich, Berlin, Dusseldorf, Hamburg and Stuttgart.

The aircraft maintenance staff are responsible for 200,000 take-offs and landings on-time - worldwide per year. All in all 39.000 checks are performed on all aircraft annually. Workers like aircraft mechanics and aircraft electronic technicians perform more than 3.6 millions man hours in total. They are supported by more than 200 highly qualified engineers in their daily work.

Lufthansa Technik's leading position as a provider of MRO services is based on decades of experience. Through the ongoing maintenance of the large Lufthansa fleet and several hundred aircraft operated by other customers worldwide, new knowledge of aircraft types, their components and maintenance procedures constantly flows into the company's pool of expertise. Even during the purchase of an aircraft, this experience is invaluable. The MRO specialists at Lufthansa Technik advise and support airlines when choosing new aircraft and equipment. Lufthansa Technik's recommendations enable the airlines to save costs, because their aircraft can then be better integrated into the general maintenance schedule and parts supply. During flight operations, maintenance planning is supplemented by constant engine conditioning monitoring.
