Brits want to travel through airports ''quickly'', AOA
Release Date: 2009-04-06
Britons making their way through airports want to be able to do so quickly, it has been claimed.
Responding to a recent poll on customer satisfaction in the industry which saw regional travel hubs take many of the top spots, Jonathan Mitcham, principal researcher at Which? Holiday magazine, commented speed is a primary concern for many people.
Mr Mitcham said: "I think what people are looking for at any airport, regardless of the size of it, is that they want to get through as quickly as possible."
He went on to say that consumers expect bigger travel hubs to provide a wide range of facilities, such as shops and food outlets.
The researcher added that travelling in a larger airport does not mean that there should be a sub-standard service.
Mr Mitcham pointed to Atlanta Airport as proof of this, commenting that it is busier than Heathrow, yet it finished 28th in a similar survey stateside, while the London travel centre took 120th place in the UK study.
