TITAL succeeds at MAKS in Moscow, TITAL GmbH

Bestwig - Moscow. The German titanium and aluminum investment castings specialist TITAL located in Bestwig, Germany considers its first appearance at the international Russian aerospace tradeshow MAKS, which was held from August 18 – 23 in Moscow a great success. "We were able to establish contacts with potential Russian business partners while at the same time getting an understanding of how the Russian aerospace market works" reports Philipp Schack, managing director of TITAL. The MAKS is known as the leading tradeshow for the Russian market and the markets of the CIS states. According to TITAL's evaluation these are the most important future markets worldwide for the aerospace industry. Schack: "These markets offer an enormous growth potential. Due to the strong global competitive pressure, Russia needs strong partners from the aerospace industry and its subcontractors. This gives us the chance to establish ourselves on the Russian market and to open a position as a supplier of large Titanium components."



From their headquarters in Bestwig, Germany TITAL currently maintains an existing relationship with their Russian client JSC NPO Saturn who has a joint venture with Snecma on the SaM 146 engine. TITAL is currently producing products for the Sam 146 and the engine has been ordered by the aircraft manufacturer Sukhoi for its Superjet 100 (SSJ 100). This is a twin-jet regional aircraft and is designed as a low wing airplane to replace the Tupolew Tu-134 and Jakowlew Jak42 which are flying in large numbers in Russia. The project is lead by Sukhoi together with numerous western partners including Boeing and the Italian company Alenia.



TITAL participated at the MAKS tradeshow with 22 other companies in a joint marketing display of the BDLI (German Aerospace Industries Association) of 500 m2 (5400 sqf) The German display made a statement with the biggest national presence in terms of exhibition space at the tradeshow of the Russian Federation running second only to Russia. Other co-exhibitors from Germany included EADS Deutschland GmbH, Lufthansa Technik AG as well as Rohde & Schwarz GmbH & Co. KG.
