Release Date: 2009-10-07

A new Customer Support Centre (CSC) facility in Toulouse, France with extended range of products and services becomes operational for Diehl Aerospace and Diehl Aircabin products
A new Customer Support Centre (CSC) facility in Toulouse, France, was inaugurated for the two Diehl Aerosystems companies, Diehl Aerospace and Diehl Aircabin, both joint ventures with Thales, on October 7. The new facility, located near Toulouse airport in the second biggest aerospace industry location in the world, will serve customer needs in Europe and Africa as well as the Middle East. Customers in other parts of the world continue to be supported from similar facilities, offering the same products and services, in Sterrett, Alabama (USA) and Singapore.

The CSC in Toulouse is replacing the smaller facility that existed for this purpose until very recently. Now 48 employees in the new building, covering 2,300 square meters, provide customer support and services, such as standard services (repairs, distribution, exchange of components), tailored maintenance contracts, account management, and integrated services.

Activities by the support team located at the CSC cover all products by Diehl Aerospace, such as avionics and cabin lighting and safety components, as well as Diehl Aircabin, a full service provider for aircraft cabin components. Spare parts provisioning for Diehl Aerospace products will also be handled at the CSC in Toulouse. As from the beginning of 2010, the CSC will also include the customer order desk function for the Diehl Aircabin spares service. Spare parts shipment for Diehl Aircabin products, due to their sizes and variation in customization, will be delivered directly from the company's site in Laupheim, Germany.

Already earlier this year, the CSC in creation was inspected by representatives of the aviation authorities EASA, FAA and CAA as part of a certification process. As results of thorough audits, all certifications, including ISO EN 9100 in early September, were granted to the CSC without findings, providing the new facility with an optimal start for its operations.

Dr. Gerardo Walle, Member of the Corporate Division Board Diehl Aerosystems and CEO of Diehl Aerospace, said: "The inauguration of our new Customer Support Centre in Toulouse marks a milestone in the extension and diversification of our after-sales activities for avionics and cabin interior products. We will now commit even more people and resources to meeting customers' requirements for outstanding support and services."

Diehl Aerosystems is one of four Corporate Divisions of Diehl Stiftung & Co. KG and covers all aerospace activities of the Diehl Group. The Corporate Division currently has more than 2,500 employees and intends to expand its business fields in the future.
