Defence Electronics Track conference subjects announced for AVIONICS 2010

PennWell Corporation, organisers of the premier platform for the Avionics and Defence Electronics community, AVIONICS EUROPE, has announced the conference subjects to be covered during the Defence Electronics Track of the 2010 Event.
The exhibition and conference that is due to be held from the 24th and 25th March, 2010 at the Passenger Terminal (City Centre) in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, will for the first time incorporate a track on the important area of Defence Electronics.

Subjects to be covered include:

COTS Integration Challenge

This session will cover how system integrators manage obsolescence and find the right balance between COTS and custom components in defence electronics systems.


Thermal Management

This session will cover unique cooling solutions and power management schemes aimed at improving thermal efficient new and legacy defence platforms.

Defence Electronics Import / Export Compliance Challenges

This session will provide an overview of the regulations and discuss best practices and how to comply from legal experts and leading defence suppliers.

This session will discuss methods and solutions for assessing the vulnerability and reliability of associated electronic component designs for mission critical military systems as well as enabling anti-helicopter capability as the component level.

Defeating Counterfeit Parts;

Managing Reliability in the Supply Chain This session will discuss the issues military system designers face in detecting and tracing such counterfeits.

Software Defined Radio in Defence Applications

This session will discuss how COTS SDR technology – hardware and software – and other offthe- shelf communication solutions are being deployed in European defence systems.

The Defence Electronics Track aims to cover the issues and technologies central to the future of the European defence electronics industry, to enable it to compete in the medium and long term and is ideal for senior level project leaders and senior engineers involved in mission systems, planning, design and specification.
