EADS changes its management structure in Brazil, EADS

Bruno Gallard has been appointed EADS Brasil’s Executive Director, replacing Eduardo Marson who has become Chairman of the EADS subsidiary’s Board of Directors. Mr. Marson will remain President of Helibras - Helicópteros do Brasi SA - a position he has held since last JuneMr. Gallard, a graduate in Naval Architecture and Systems Engineering, has worked with EADS since 2006 and previously held the position of Marketing and Strategy Vice-President for Latin America. His presence will strengthen the links between EADS and Brazil in the field of industrial cooperation, as this has been the key role performed by the executive during his professional career.
For 15 years, Mr. Gallard worked for France’s defence procurement agency DGA or La direction générale de l’armement. Among his roles within the DGA, Mr. Gallard was project head for the Navy’s command and control systems on the French nuclear submarine program while from 1993 to 1997 he worked as DGA’s Attaché at the French Embassy in Washington DC. From 1997 to 2000, Mr. Gallard worked in Brazil as a representative of DCN International and Deputy Director of the consortium responsible for upgrading the Brazilian Navy’s Niterói class frigates, enabling the joint development of a national product.
Mr. Gallard was also the DGA’s first Attaché in Brazil where he was closely involved in a strategic partnership project with France that led to an agreement in 2003 covering the transfer of Mirage 2000 aircraft to the Brazilian Air Force. The EADS executive was also involved, in 2005, in agreements in the areas of aeronautic cooperation and military technologies which formed the basis for the current strategic partnership established between the Defence Ministries of both countries at the end of 2008.
Eduardo Marson will have an important strategic role as EADS Brasil’s Chairman of the Board. Mr. Marson, who is 46, was EADS Brasil’s Executive Director from 2003 to June 2009 and he will hold the position jointly with the Presidency of Helibras. During the six years when he directed EADS Brasil, the marketing and strategy branch of the EADS Group in the country, Eduardo Marson took part in many important projects, including Airbus Military’s supply of 12 C-295 aircraft for military transportation, the update of P-3 navy patrol aircrafts for the Brazilian Air Force, and Helibras/Eurocopter’s domestic manufacture of 50 EC 725 military helicopters. He has also been one of the persons responsible for the strategy of expanding EADS’ industrial presence in Brazil.
