Release Date: 2009-05-29

Welcome on board the Dreamliner!

EDM Ltd is inviting all Boeing 787 Dreamliner customers to visit their facilities in Manchester to view the first two high technology simulators dedicated to training cabin and flight crews in operational and emergency procedures aboard the world's most advanced airliner.

They are offering this unique opportunity to view the simulators over a five day period from 8–12 June 2009.

The simulators feature detailed aspects of the aircraft cabin, including the main door, functional cabin services and interphone system, touch-screen panels and attendants' seats detailed interior trim, and a cabin oxygen system for decompression training.

Their engineers have developed a unique software control system through which the physical opening and closing characteristics of the door and features encountered during an emergency such as mechanical or systems failures can be faithfully replicated.

From a cubicle within the cabin, an instructor uses a computer control panel to activate a range of emergency scenarios, and operational drills enabling cabin and flight crews to build their knowledge and capabilities in a realistic environment. Audio and visual simulations – such as fire, smoke and water – can be introduced to add further authenticity into the training scenario

Customers who wish to attend should respond to suecrestc@aol.com or telephone +44 (0) 24 7664 2428.
