Birmingham International celebrates landmark, AOA

A major UK airport has celebrated a 25th anniversary.
It has been 25 years since Birmingham International Airport opened a £29 million terminal.
The facility was opened by the Queen and comprised of new taxiways and infrastructure and now forms the hub''s Terminal One complex.
Paul Kehoe, the airport''s chief executive officer, said: "It certainly doesn''t seem 25 years since the airport unveiled its new terminal and it has seen plenty of changes throughout the years."
He added that this year also marks the 70th anniversary of the hub and the opening of a new £70 million international pier.
Mr Kehoe went on to say that a busy 12 months are ahead for all concerned with the West Midlands facility.
In other news, Manchester Airport recently announced a new eco-friendly scheme.
The hub has implemented zones which include 125 recycling bins throughout the facility, with those behind the initiative hoping that around 200 tonnes of rubbish will be collected each year.
