SELEX Sistemi Integrati wins contract worth around 70 million euro in the UnitedArab Emirates, Finmeccanica

SELEX Sistemi Integrati, a Finmeccanica company, through the joint venture Abu Dhabi System
Integration (ADSI), won a contract worth a total of around 70 million euro to supply the United Arab
Emirates Navy with command and control systems to equip the new fast patrol boats for the UAE
Armed Forces.
The agreement, announced in Abu Dhabi at IDEX 2009 (International Defence Exhibition &
Conference), is part of the Ghannatha programme to supply 12 new patrol boats and upgrade a
further 12 units of the same class.
In addition to the command and control system, ADSI will supply the electro-optical surveillance
system and the navigation system, and will be responsible for the integration of all the equipments in
both the new ships and those to be upgraded.
The first boat, fitted with the new equipments, is expected to be delivered by 2011.
Abu Dhabi System Integration
ADSI is a joint venture between SELEX Sistemi Integrati and Abu Dhabi Ship Building, which was set
up in 2005. It is based in Abu Dhabi and operates in defence and homeland security sectors. ADSI,
together with SELEX Sistemi Integrati, is currently involved in manufacturing and integrating the
combat system of the six BAYNUNAH corvettes for the UAE Navy.
