UK MANUFACTURING GROUPS sign new deal, A|D|S

A|D|S, the UK’s AeroSpace, Defence and Security trade organisation today (Friday) signed a cooperative Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Shipbuilders and Shiprepairers Association (SSA)A|D|S and SSA have agreed to work together in order to ensure that there is a single clear voice representing the maritime manufacturing industries in the UK, and which will also act as the prime point of contact between Government and industry. A|D|S has been broadening its services into the maritime community, and this agreement will create greater awareness of the opportunities in both the commercial and defence ship building and services communities for both organisations membership.
Rees Ward, Chief Executive of A|D|S, said: “The UK has always had a strong maritime tradition, and it only makes sense for our two trade organisations to deepen our already excellent relationship. This agreement will deliver significant benefits for our respective members by opening opportunities to both our memberships, and will give a united voice to Government. We look forward to building on this relationship to deliver additional benefits to both our members and the UK economy.”
Alan Dickinson, President of the Shipbuilders and Shiprepairers Association (SSA), said: "The SSA, the voice of the UK shipyard industry, welcomes this joint understanding with A|D|S as part of an enduring strategy to raise the awareness of UK shipbuilding, ship repair and associated supply chain across the maritime environment.
