Government Minister Mark Prisk is visiting China and Hong Kong this week to examine the available business opportunities.
Mark Prisk, the Business and Enterprise Minister for the Coalition Government, is taking a closer look at the range of opportunities open to UK companies to develop their business in the world’s second largest economy.

The Coalition Government is committed to strengthening relationships with overseas business partners and the trip, organised by UK Trade & Investment, will demonstrate this dedication.

Mr Prisk is travelling to Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai, meeting with Government ministers and UK businesses which are already enjoying successful trading in the region. He will also meet investors and business leaders.

He said: “China and Hong Kong offer countless opportunities for UK companies of all sizes that want to take that next crucial step and extend their business overseas. China’s economy is growing rapidly and there has never been a better time to engage with this market.

“International trade is at the heart of the UK's economy and I look forward to strengthening our already close business ties with China.”

Opportunities are available in the ICT, creative industries, advanced engineering and financial services sectors.

Global design services and consultancy for the semiconductor industry Sondrel Ltd is just one of the thriving businesses Mr Prisk has visited. He attended the opening of an office in Shanghai which will offer closer support Sondrel's partners and customers.
