British Airways brings down costs, AOA

Release Date: 2009-08-05

British Airways (BA) has managed to reduce its fuel bill by around £500 million and has implemented a series of changes as it attempts to save more money.

Alongside the reduced fuel bill, the airline giant has also launched a new marketing campaign in the US which it hopes will improve the number of business passengers that use its service.

Around 95 per cent of pilots that work for the airline have also agreed to cost-cutting measures which could save the company £26 million per year.

The projects follow the Ashes promotion which saw BA offer 425 flights to Sydney, costing £215 each, after it based the price on the number of runs Australia scored in the first innings of the second Npower test and the number of seats on England''s total.

In other news, BA has recently signed up to the Sustainable Aviation Fuel Users Group which is dedicated to unearthing viable forms of biofuels.
