1959-2009: the 50th anniversary of the Air France ticket agency at Les Invalides, AirFrance-KLM

Exactly 50 years ago, on 28 August 1959, in the former air terminal at Les Invalides, Air France opened its ticket and information agency to the public. It was mainly aimed at transit passengers and customers from the numerous administrations and companies situated in this area of Paris.

In 2009, in France, there are now 400 Air France sales agents working for customers at 32 different agencies, 200 of whom work in the 11 agencies in the Paris region.

Air France has always used the latest technological advances to make ticket purchase easier for its customers. Firstly with the telephone, then new IT tools, the Internet, and finally the disappearance of the paper ticket, with the first electronic ticket issued in 1998, which gradually modified then revolutionized sales methods. Today, in just a few clicks, customers can receive information and purchase their tickets at airfrance.com. In summer 2009, 20% of Air France flights coupons were purchased online at airfrance.fr.
