Institute of Plastics Processing (IKV)
Since it was founded in 1950, the Institute of Plastics Processing (IKV) has stood for research, innovation and technology transfer with a bearing on practice. The IKV's particular strength lies in its integrative approach to product development in the fields of plastics and rubber, taking in the different aspects of material, design and processing (figure).The Institute is run by an Association of Sponsors, which currently has a membership of 250 companies from the plastics sector worldwide. The members of this Association of Sponsors benefit from their cooperation with the Institute by being able to exploit advantages from innovative developments at a particularly early stage.
