飞机场立即变化“不可能”, AOA集团

Release Date: 2009-04-07

There are unlikely to be any instant changes after Gatwick and Stansted Airports are sold, it has been claimed.

Jonathan Mitcham, principal researcher at Which? Holiday magazine, commented that passengers may not see a radical difference immediately after BAA completes a deal to offload the two London travel hubs.

He said that new owners may be able to improve the performance of both of these airports, and may also boost Heathrow, however, he added that it is hard to be sure that this will definitely happen.

Mr Mitcham went on to state: "What we''d say is that we will wait with interest to see how new owners respond to the challenge."

The comments come after the Competition Commission lat month ordered BAA to sell three of its travel hubs within the next two years.

It ruled that Gatwick must be offloaded first, followed by Stansted and finally either Glasgow or Edinburgh Airport.
