Flybe has announced that it is set to restore flights between London Gatwick and Leeds Bradford airports.
The regional carrier will put on three trips each weekday, and two on Saturday and Sunday, starting from June 29th.
Mike Rutter, the airline''s chief commercial officer, stated that this route is "of great importance" to the north of England, in particular Yorkshire.
He added: "The new service demonstrates Flybe''s commitment to the region, continuing to help the local economy through the development of affordable and convenient business and leisure travel options."
The announcement comes after bmibaby''s decision to withdraw its flights from London to the north of England.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that Flybe, which is the the recognised Embraer Service Centre for Europe, will host the Operators'' Maintenance Forum in Exeter later this month.
The two-day event will include a series of workshops showcasing cost-efficient practices and working methods for airlines.
