新迪尔航空集团成立一周年, 迪尔航空系统公司

Release Date: 2009-10-20

Diehl Aircabin GmbH, based in Laupheim (Germany), the former Airbus site, joined Diehl Aerosystems in October 2008 and since then, together with its sister company Diehl Aerospace, forms the Corporate Division of the Diehl Group, where aerospace activities are concentrated.
Axel Rodenberg, CEO of Diehl Aircabin GmbH, reviewed the last 12 months on the occasion of this first anniversary during a general assembly of employees on site today: "By moving from Airbus to a joint venture with Diehl and Thales as shareholders, new perspectives opened up for our company. Already during the first 12 months of our existence as a unit of the Diehl group, we had this new way ahead firmly in view." He added: "We continued to deliver reliably to Airbus, being our biggest customer right now, and at the same time closed the ranks with Diehl Aerospace in order to establish an enlarged market presence under the umbrella of Diehl Aerosystems."

As part of the transition from the Airbus site Laupheim to an independent corporate unit, a number of functions and processes had to be separated, created or modified successfully, which was achieved also with the support of the shareholders Diehl and Thales. The contractual links to Airbus, now being an external customer, was one big part of that, but also other activities such as IT systems and labour relations.

Already in the passed year, Diehl Aircabin and Diehl Aerospace featured together at air shows in Bangalore, Hamburg and Paris. Both companies are cooperating closely under the umbrella of Diehl Aerosystems both in terms of Marketing and Customer Support, which is gradually built up for Diehl Aircabin with the support of its sister company. In the near future, management will focus its attention on three subjects: In addition to a dependable supply to serial programmes, this will be the work packages for the Airbus A350XWB, where Laupheim will deliver more cabin elements than ever before, and the continuous improvement of the competitiveness as adaptation to an ever changing business environment, for example by cost reduction programmes.

Diehl Aerosystems is one of four Corporate Divisions of Diehl Stiftung & Co. KG and covers all aerospace activities of the Diehl Group. With its operational units Diehl Aerospace and Diehl Aircabin, both joint ventures with Thales, Diehl Aerosystems is a leading systems supplier for avionics and cabin solutions for commercial aircraft. The Corporate Division currently has more than 2,500 employees and intends to expand its business fields in the future. Amongst its customers are leading aircraft manufacturers (OEMs), such as Airbus, Boeing, Eurocopter and Embraer.
