Ad Rutten, Executive Vice President & COO of Schiphol Group, is elected Chairman of Airports Council International (ACI) Europe. He is appointed to that office at ACI Europe's 19th annual conference in Manchester, and will hold it for the duration of one year, with the option of reappointment for a further year. The board of ACI Europe is made up of 20 board members of airports from around Europe. Ad Rutten succeeds Mr Yiannis Paraschis, CEO of Athens International Airport, as Chairman.
Ad Rutten comments, "I am greatly honoured to have been elected Chairman of ACI Europe. A number of difficult challenges await us during the coming years. We must deal with the global economic crisis. It is also important to create a level playing field for all European airports in terms of regulations and security. Maintaining and improving Europe's airport capacity for the years to come is another high priority."
ACI Europe
ACI Europe is the European sector organisation representing 440 airports in 45 countries. With its head office in Brussels, it works with the EU to promote the interests of airports.
