捷蓝航空公司签署反推力装置大修协议, 德国汉莎航空技术公司

Release Date: 2009-06-22

Services for the complete A320 fleet

Lufthansa Technik Tulsa, a subsidiary of Lufthansa Technik AG, has been awarded a ten-year, multimillion-dollar contract to overhaul thrust reversers on a scheduled removal program on JetBlue Airways’ complete fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft equipped with V2500 power plants. After completing a certain amount of cycles, the thrust reversers will be dismantled and shipped to Tulsa, where they will be overhauled using state-of-the-art technology and some of the most modern repair procedures available to date.

From minor structural repairs to the reskinning of complete assemblies – Lufthansa Technik Tulsa will take care of nearly every aspect of the thrust reverser’s composite structure. Preventive measures to further strengthen it and improve its stability are also undertaken in Tulsa. Due to the extensive knowledge of airline operation, Lufthansa Technik and its subsidiaries know the components, especially their weaknesses, inside and out.

The agreement between Lufthansa Technik Tulsa and JetBlue also includes the repair and overhaul of thrust reversers which unexpectedly have to be replaced, for example in case of ramp damage. This inclusion of unscheduled events in the overhaul contract gives JetBlue the full planning reliability it needs for its operations. Based on these principles the contract follows last year’s successful partnership between JetBlue Airways and Lufthansa Technik Tulsa to support the nacelles of the same fleet.
