A new restaurant and takeaway is set to open at Manchester Airport and will give guests a chance to once again sample the chic and sophistication associated with the Concorde, according to one newspaper.

The Manchester Evening News reported that the Concorde Conference Centre will now include the Ringway Restaurant, which will employ its own kitchen team and be able to seat 110 guests.

Ed Ainslie, director of the Concorde Conferences, which promotes the centre on behalf of the airport, said: "It is a very exciting venue for a lot of people. It is going very well and we are very pleased with the level of inquiries."

The venue is already a popular events location with weddings, conferences and talks by people like the arctic explorer Pen Hadow all being held at the centre.

Manchester Airport recently hosted the ACI Europe Annual General Assenbly, which attempted to address major issues that the aviation industry is facing.
