After the Second World War, Aeroflot was flying to the German Democratic Republic. Aerial communication between Western Germany and the USSR was opened on February 21, 1972 (Moscow-Frankfurt). Regular Moscow-Dresden-Moscow flights were on schedule in 1972-1993 and were suspended after that.
Today Dresden is the seventh German city to be connected with Moscow via Aeroflot’s flights. Aeroflot does 12-13 daily flights from Moscow to Berlin, Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Munchen, Hamburg, Hannover, and, from now on, Dresden. Over 2008, Aeroflot has carried 373,021 passengers between Russia and Germany.
