爱丁堡机场迎来最繁忙的一天, AOA集团

Release Date: 2009-07-06

Edinburgh Airport has experienced the busiest day in its 30 year history, according to one national newspaper.

The Scotsman reported that last Friday saw 35,899 people use Scotland''s biggest airport and broke the previous high of 35,782, which was set in June 2007.

Managing director Gordon Dewar told the newspaper: "This is a fantastic achievement for Edinburgh Airport, particularly given the current economic climate. It shows that there is still a strong demand for air travel to and from the capital."

He added that, despite the record levels of passengers, the standard of consumer care did not slip and teams still managed to provide a high quality service.

The airport also has a £40 million terminal extension in the pipeline, with part of the improvement expected to be open to the public in November.

Passengers using Edinburgh Airport can look forward to experiencing a world class rail link from the site if a new proposal by think tank Reform Scotland is implemented, according to the group.
