Liverpool John Lennon Airport (JLA) will now be connected with the Prague thanks to new routes launched by an eastern European low-cost airline.

Wizz Air, which first began operating out of the Merseyside facility in 2004, has connected the north-west with the Czech Republic''s capital.

John Stephenson, executive vice president of Wizz Air, said: "We are delighted to be the airline offering a direct connection for Liverpool to this booming cultural and economic
centre."

He added that the company is confident that the new service will be just as popular as its existing routes from JLA to central and eastern Europe.

JLA has recently been connected to Amsterdam thanks to a route introduced by the Dutch airline KLM, which has attracted travellers from all over the world since it was introduced in March this year.
