Rolls-Royce, the global power systems company, has appointed Dan Korte as President, Defense Aerospace. In this role, Korte is responsible for leadership of the Group’s $3.3 billion global defense aerospace business, which employs 2,400 people and operates in 17 countries around the world.
Prior to joining Rolls-Royce, Korte served as Executive Vice President and General Manager for Global Strike Systems, a division of the Boeing Military Aircraft business. Since joining Boeing in 1985, Korte has held a number of senior positions including: V-22 Program Manager, Vice President - Supplier Management & Procurement and Vice President/Program Manager SBInet, a critical component of the US Department of Homeland Security’s Secure Border Initiative (SBI). Korte brings more than 20 years of experience in design and systems engineering, integrated product team leadership, as well as supplier, procurement and program management to his new role.
Korte holds an MBA from Lindenwood College in Missouri and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Southern Illinois University. He is also a graduate of the Strategic Thinking and Management for Competitive Advantage Program at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.
Korte assumed this role August 2 and is based at the Group’s North America headquarters in Reston, VA. He succeeds Axel Arendt who is retiring.
